What we do with the details you send us, and what this website stores on your device. Written plainly, because a notice nobody reads protects nobody.
Who is responsible
FM Power Plumbing and Heating Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 16396347, registered office 16 Orchard Road, Hayes UB3 2JA, is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at info@fm-power.co.uk or +44 7447 364648.
What we collect, and why
If you use the enquiry form we receive your name, phone number, and — where you give them — your email address, postcode, the type of job and whatever you write in the details box. We use it for one thing: to answer your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work.
The lawful basis is Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR — taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We do not sell your details, we do not pass them to anyone for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to 24 months, so we can pick up the thread if you come back. Where we have carried out work, records are kept as long as the law requires for gas safety and accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Who else sees it
Only the services that make this website work or carry your message to us. All of them act as processors on our instructions, with one exception, marked below:
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and delivers it to your browser.
- Resend — delivers the enquiry form to our inbox as an email.
- united-domains — provides our info@fm-power.co.uk mailbox.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — carries your message if you choose to contact us that way. WhatsApp handles it under its own terms and privacy policy, not on our instructions. See below.
- Google — analytics and advertising measurement, only if you allow cookies. Decline and no Google cookie is set.
If you message us on WhatsApp
WhatsApp is one of the ways to reach us, and it is optional — a call, an email or the form on this site reach us just as well. If you use it, we see your WhatsApp number, your profile name and whatever you send us.
Messages are end-to-end encrypted, so WhatsApp cannot read what you write. It does process your number and information about the conversation, such as when it took place, under its own terms and privacy policy. WhatsApp is a Meta company and handles that information on servers outside the UK as well.
We use what you send for the same purpose and on the same lawful basis as an enquiry through the form (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR). We keep the conversation for the same period, and we delete it from our phone if you ask us to.
Counting taps on our contact links
When someone taps a phone, WhatsApp or email link, the browser sends one short request to this website that names the kind of link, where it sits and the kind of page. The request carries no cookie and no address of the page you were on, and nothing is stored on your device. Our hosting provider technically processes your IP address and browser identification with it, as with any request to this website. We only read the total for each contact route, position and page type, never anything about who tapped. This happens whether or not you allow cookies. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether our contact links work (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
Cookies
Nothing but the strictly necessary is stored until you choose. If you decline, the analytics and advertising cookies below are never set.

To change your mind, clear this site’s data in your browser settings — the banner will appear again on your next visit.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email info@fm-power.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
